Sevilla 0-3 Barça: Same opponent, same result

Same opponent as the midweek Copa de la Reina tie, and the same result, as Barça beat Sevilla 0-3, this time away in the Liga F at the Jesús Navas stadium. Not an easy ride for the league leaders as the score remained 0-1 for a long time throughout this match.

Five changes from the Copa win

Jonatan Giráldez brought in Torrejón, Martina, Walsh, Pina, and Brugts for this game and although Sevilla adopted a more protective shape for this match, it was Pina who broke the deadlock with a shot from outside the area (0-1, min 18).

Unlike three days earlier, the floodgates didn't open, however, and chances for Aitana, Pina and Irene Paredes were all thwarted by an assured Sullastres in the Sevilla goal. 0-1 at halftime.

Second half subs ensure the victory

Not a great start to the second half for Barça, as Amanda Sampedro missed a clear header in front of goal early on. Few chances were being created until coach Giráldez brought on Salma Paralluelo and Caroline Graham Hansen, the latter soon setting up Pina, whose effort was saved.

However, Graham Hansen is irrepressible at the moment, and the fact she kneed in an Aitana assist to score at the far post reemphasises why she is the leading scorer in the Liga F (0-2, min. 71). Aitana then grabbed her second assist in two minutes, receiving the ball in the area before teeing up Mariona to score with a deft touch near the post (0-3, min. 73). Final score 0-3 and a good victory against an opponent with eight wins and two draws in the last ten games.
