This Sunday against Atlético Madrid only a victory will do for the blaugranes and striker Robert Lewandowski is only too aware of the importance of the fixture. "It's vital to get a win, above all, mentally," said the blaugrana goalscorer ahead of the game at the Estadi Olímpic, adding that the team need to "step up."
Lewandowski is right when he says, "the season is very long but you have to win every game." The league title is a season long battle but avoiding dropping points in fixtures like the on Sunday can count for a lot come the end of the campaign.
"Two important matches are coming up and we have to pick up six points," added Lewandowski, referring to the game against Diego Simeone's team and the fixture against surprise package of the season Girona the following weekend.
One factor in the blaugranes' favour is that both games come at the Estadi Olímpìc Lluís Companys. "We are Barça and we are playing at home. We can win and we have to go for it from the very first minute. The fans can help us to be focused and they will be important for us," concluded the striker.
