FC Barcelona has just celebrated its 124th anniversary, but the event has primarily served to start the countdown to an even bigger milestone 12 months from now. On 29 November 2024, the club will be commemorating 125 years of existence, and it has just unveiled the special logo that it will be using to symbolise the occasion. This new identity reflects the team's unmistakeable style of play that has been so carefully developed over so many years, and which the whole world associates with Barça, where the ball is at the centre of everything they do.
With the tag-line 'We Want the Ball', the strategic committee formed for the anniversary, made up of the FC Barcelona vice-president, Elena Fort, the Presidential and International Relations Area and the Commissioner, David Carabén, as well as the Barça Identity Area and brand consultant Morillas, have worked together throughout the design process of the new identity. Based on the text of the Manifesto that Carabén produced for the event, the design symbolises the central role that the ball has always played in the club's history, to the extent that a football has always been an integral part of the club crest.
The club has a number of projects in preparation for the anniversary, all of which will be associated to the new logo that has been specially designed to honour such a momentous occasion.
