Not the ideal start to the Champions League Elite Round. The Barça futsal team drew with Città di Eboli and they now have to win the remaining two games if they want to be in the Final Four next May. They practically dominated the game throughout but weren't as effective as they would have liked. Catela scored a penalty before Touré added another to come back after Calderolli scored first. However the luck wasn't there in the game and Calderolli forced a draw 9 seconds from the end.
No goals
The blaugranes were in control from the off, with chances, good defensive play, counter-attacks and quality combinations, but it took Catela to score a penalty 52 seconds before half time to draw level (1-1, min 19).
Città di Eboli had gone ahead with their only clear chance, after a shot by Calderolli (0-1, min 12). Barça had 17 shots, with Adolfo, Catela, Touré and Aniol all being repelled by the goalkeeper Dalcin, while Antonio hit the post, as Barça hunted down a more comfortable score before half-time.
Touré scores his first
Not much change after the restart, but Città di Eboli defended higher up to make it more difficult for the blaugranes. This meant Barça had to slow things down and build up more patiently. Adolfo tested Dalcin (min 27), but Touré had the clearest chance after a long team move, unfortunately hitting the post (min 29).
Erick and Adolfo also had further chances saved by the keeper, but Touré scored at the far post to make the score a truer reflection of the game (2-1, min 34) - the Frenchman's first for the Barça first team.
Città di Eboli grab a draw
The goal gave a bit of breathing space but inspired the Italians to go for it. With three and half minutes to go, Città di Eboli played a fly keeper in Igor Carioca. Barça were holding out well, but with only 9 seconds left, Calderolli again scored to grab the draw (2-2, min 40) and Barça must now fight to stay in the Elite Round.
