FC Barcelona to be honoured as Team of the Year 2023 prior to Benfica game
On Tuesday 14 November, the UWCL returns to Estadi Johan Cruyff with a game against Benfica Women. And the first European fixture of the season will be accompanied by a celebration of the team being recognised at the recent Ballon dOr ceremony as the best in the world.
The tribute will be happening in the build-up to the game, with a DJ, games and activities on the terraces and via the video scoreboard.
Recognition of hard work
The team were the obvious candidates for the prize after winning the Liga F and the Champions League and setting all kinds of other records along the way.
They have made the Johan Cruyff an almost impossible place for visiting teams, stringing together a quite remarkable 78 consecutive wins in all competitions.
They also went for 64 games without defeat in the league, the longest such run for any professional team, male or female, in the history of the game.
