Special and deserved tribute to Aitana Bonmatí

Another special day in the life of Aitana Bonmatí, the winner of the 2023 Ballon d'Or just under two weeks ago in Paris. Since being presented with the award there have been numerous tributes and another came on Sunday ahead of the men's first team game between Barça and Alavés at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. 

Aitana was given the opportunity to show off her Ballon d'Or prize to the fans in the stadium, an award which classes her as the best female player in the world. 

A special day at Montjüic ahead of another next weekend when Barça Women play their first game at the stadium against Real Madrid in the league. 

Special meeting

In the build-up to the game, Aitana also got to meet one of her childhood heroes, Xavi Hernández. The player and coach exchanged a few words and the latter got to congratulate the former on winning the Ballon d'Or.

Sunday's tribute will not the last for Aitana Bonmatí, Ballon d'Or 2023, as there will be another event as she turns over the award to the Barça Immersive Tour.
