Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has been chosen as the best U23 player in La Liga for the month of August. The blaugrana winger takes the award after his excellent start to the campaign for Barça at just 16 years of age.
The FC Barcelona winger has burst on to the scene at the start of the 2023/24 season, making four appearances for Xavi Hernández's side, three of them in the starting XI after coming as a substitute in the opening La Liga game of the season at Getafe.
Last season the La Masia product became the youngest Barça player to feature in the league at 15 years, 9 months and 16 days following an appearance as substitute against Betis. This season his record breaking has continued, becoming the youngest player ever to start a match after being included in the starting XI in the 2-0 win over Cádiz.
Yamal's dribbling skills and precociousness has left opponents bewildered. Against Villarreal he created a goal for Gavi, becoming the youngest player in the league to provide as assist at 16 years and 45 days.
