Xavi Hernández left the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys stadium satisfied after his team's first test in their new home. The 4-2 comeback victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Gamper Trophy game left many positives for the former Barça player. "I felt good. We liked the dressing rooms and the stadium itself, we felt comfortable. A lot of people came and they should know that we will need them," said the coach after the win over the Premier League team.
About the game itself, the coach saw the positives and the negatives. "We ended the game really well but I don't think we played as well as we did against Real Madrid or AC Milan," he reasoned. "We played against a good team, with plenty of pace and intensity and they had the better of us at times."
For the blaugrana coach, his team were a little bit 'off the pace' in the first half despite going ahead early on before improving after the break. "The players who came on in the second half did well," he added before praising Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, who all played an important part in the comeback.
Asked about the transfer market, Xavi sent of message of calm regard player inscriptions. "From the Board and the Sporting Management, they are positive and that gives me calm," he answered. The coach did not get involved with names regarding possible arrivals before adding that Araujo had just a little problem and not an 'injury' and that the Uruguayan should be fine for the opening game of the league season away at Getafe on Sunday.
