FC Barcelona start their preseason with a friendly against Arsenal on Wednesday 26 July at 7.30pm local time (4.30an Thursday CEST), at the SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. There's a long history between the two clubs, including no fewer than 13 people who have played for both.
All but two of those made the move from London to the Catalan capital. Marc Overmars and Emmanuel Petit were the first around the turn of the century.
These were followed not long after by Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Sylvinho. Then in 2007 came the great Thierry Henry and a year after Aliaksandr Hleb. The 2010s brought Cesc Fàbregas, Alex Song and Thomas Vermaelen while the most recent players to arrive from the Gunners were Aubameyang (2021) and Hector Bellerín (2022).
Only two players have moved in the reverse direction. Alexis Sánchez left for London in 2014 after playing 153 games and scoring 53 goals for Barça.
Two years after the Chilean, Denis Suárez joined Arsenal from Barça and spent one season with the North London club.
