Vitor Roque will join an illustrious list of forwards from the South American country at FC Barcelona

When Vitor Roque dons the Barça shirt he will become the 47th Brazilian to do so and the fourteenth striker in the Club's history. Some of those players have been key figures in FC Barcelona history. 

Lucidio Batista da Silva, the first Brazilian striker 

In 1947  Lucidio Batista da Silva became the first Brazilian forward to play for the Club. In his only season under coach Enrique Fernández he made three official appearances, scoring one goal. 

Top strikers from the 20th century 

The golden age for Brazilian strikers came in the 1990s. The likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldo Nazario and Romario all left their mark on the Club. The latter stayed for two seasons and his first his 32 goals in 47 matches were key in helping the blaugranes to the league title. 

Ronaldo Nazario, best debut season 

The legendary Ronaldo Nazario had an immediate impact in his one and only season at Barça. The Brazilian scored 47 goals in just 49 matches before leaving for Italian football and Inter Milan.

Rivaldo, Brazilian top scorer

Vítor Borba Ferreira Gomes, better know as Rivaldo, is the Brazilian striker who has scored most goals and made most appearances for the Club. The striker arrived from Deportivo La Coruña in 1997 and in his five seasons he scored 130 goals in 235 matches. 

Brazilian strikers from the 21st century 

Geovanni Deiberson was the first Brazilian striker to come to FC Barcelona this century scoring 3 goals in 45 matches between 2001 and 2003. In July 2003 one of the most beloved of all Barça players arrived at the Club. Ronaldinho scored 95 goals in 210 matches as a blaugrana and wowed the fans with his collection of tricks and magic with the ball at his feet. The Brazilian is remembered for his virtuoso performance in the win over Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu in November 2005. 

In the last 10 years three more Brazilians have played up front for Barça. Neymar scored 105 goals in 186 appearances, forming part of one of the greatest ever forward lines alongside Leo Messi and Luis Suárez. Malcom played just one season at Barça in 2018/19 in which he scored four goals. 

The last Brazilian to arrive at Barça before Vitor Roque was Raphinha. In his first season the winger showed his quality by scoring 10 goals and creating 12 assists.
