This Monday, the full staff structure of the FC Barcelona basketball structure was announced, with Roger Grimau at the helm as the new head coach. His assistant will be Carles Marco, a former player at clubs of the calibre of Joventut, Manresa, Zaragoza and Sevilla who played 34 times for Spain.
He has also previously coached Manresa in the ACB and Oviedo and Palencia in LEB Oro, and Girona. Last season he was assistant to Duško Ivanović at Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.
The team is completed by Òscar Orellana, Víctor Sada and Xavi Beltran.
Orellana has ample experience of working at Barça, having coached youth teams for 19 years. Víctor Sada and Xavi Beltran will be continuing the same roles they previously served Grimau at Barça B, where they finish second in their Liga EBA group last season.
The position of player development coach has been created this season, and its first incumbent will be Rafa Martínez, who played for Valencia Basket, Manresa and Bilbao Basket, among others, and will be serving as a link between the senior team and the youth teams.
