Sunday 28 May sees the final game at Spotify Camp Nou until November 2024 due to the construction work to take place as part of the Espai Barça project. The official farewell to the stadium as we know it will come after the game against Real Mallorca, putting an end to an era for Barça's emblematic home.
Since the stadium was opened on 24 September 1957 until the present, the culer home has seen many, many changes over the years. The installation of floodlights two years after its opening, the electronic scoreboard in the second tier of the stand as well as the private boxes, the 1976, the VIP room and the press room in 1981/82. The 1980's was a key decade due to the stadium enlargement in 1982 and the stadium's use as a venue for the World Cup. Two years later the Museum was opened and in 1994 Spotify Camp Nou underwent more changes with the lower tiers being extended and the standing areas behind the goals becoming seated. The capacity changed to more than 99,000.
Generation after generation of Barça fans, entire families, have contributed to and formed part of the development of Spotify Camp Nou and now the Club is allowed culers the opportunity to acquire a piece of that history for themselves. In the near future, FC Barcelona memorabilia will be available at the Barça Store so fans can keep alive the memory of the stadium thanks to a collection of keepsakes and unique items that FC Barcelona will give a second life to.
A second life for the stadium
The seats, the pitch and other elements that form part of the current stadium are some of the items that can be purchased. Members will have priority, enjoying access to a pre-sale of different products of memorabilia such as the seats at Spotify Camp Nou, at a reduced price before the items go on sale to the general public.
As such, this next league game will see a great festival to which culers are invited and in the next few months they will have the chance to purchase some of the most iconic items from the stadium.
