Ter Stegen, Balde, Koundé, Pedri and Lewandowski in the La Liga “Team Of the Season”

The great season in the league from FC Barcelona has seen them claim the La Liga title and now five blaugranes have been named in the 'Team of the Season'. La Liga named the 15 players that form the squad in a ceremony on Friday and it contained the names of Ter Stegen, Balde, Kounde, Pedri and Lewandowski.

The 'Team of the Season' selects the best goalkeeper, best four defenders, best three midfielders and best three strikers. 

Reward for the defence

Barça's excellent defensive performances this season mean that it no surprise to see goalkeeper Ter Stegen and defenders and Kounde and Balde included. All three players have been key in keeping 25 clean sheets and conceding just 13 goals with four games remaining.

Midfielder Pedri and striker Lewandowski have also been included in La Liga's team. The young man from the Canary Islands is chosen for the second season in a row despite his youth. In his first season in Spanish Football, Polish striker Lewandowski is in the team and is well placed to be top scorer in the competition as he currently tops the rankings on 21 goals.
