Joan Laporta could not be happier right now. "We played a great game and put on a show" said the FC Barcelona president after the 4-2 victory at Cornellà-El Prat made mathematically sure of the league title. "We deserved this league. It's time for celebrations!"
"It's a reward for consistency" he continued. "Let's hope it's the first title of many. The club has recovered financially and we have brought joy back to the Barça fans ... The Spanish league us a very competitive tournament with some very good teams. Any team can give you a tough game but we wanted to clinch the title as soon as possible."
Asked about the future, Laporta sais “we have an austerity and feasibility plan, but we hope to meet the fair-play criteria and be able to strengthen the squad. We are doing our homework."
