The final in Eindhoven is one step closer for Barça Women after this 0-1 win over Chelsea. Graham Hansen's wonderful goal after four minutes proved enough to seal victory in a game watched by almost 28,000 people at Stamford Bridge. The return leg is on 27 April at the Spotify Camp Nou when the winners of the tie will go through to the Champions League final.
Graham Hansen guides the way
Jonatan Giráldez' side began the game brilliantly and just four minutes in, Graham Hansen scored a cracker to put Barça ahead. The Norwegian cut in from the right, found a bit of space, before striking a super left foot shot from outside the area to the right of Berger in the Chelsea goal.
The team wanted to grab a quick second, but this time Berger foiled both Graham Hansen and Geyse's efforts. Barça were controlling the game, but Chelsea began to create opportunities on the counter attack, one of which ended up in a goal that was ruled out for Sam Kerr being offside, before Lucy Bronze intercepted a goal-bound effort from Reiten. Halftime score, 0-1.
Scoreless second half
The intensity in the game had dropped after the break and Barça seemed to have taken the sting out of Chelsea's attacking threat from the first half. Paralluelo and Graham Hansen were threatening down the wings, but chances remained few and far between for both sides.
With 10 minutes to go, the best opportunity of the half fell to substitute Marta Torrejón, who hit the post after a great corner by Mapi León, but that proved to be the last real action of the game and Barça came away with a vital victory to set them on their way to the final in Eindhoven.
