It was a big day for Ansu Fati at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Sunday after coming on in the second half of the 0-0 draw against Getafe. It was his 100th appearance for the Barça senior team, coming over three years after his debut against Betis back on 25 August 2019.
100% Barça
He has done it at the age of just 20 years, 5 months and 16 days, an extraordinarily young age to have played so many games, and especially considering the fact that injuries have meant that more than a year of that time has been spent out of action.
Third youngest
Ansu is the third youngest player to complete his first century of Barça appearances. The youngest was the recently retired Bojan Krkic (19 years, 2 months, 24 days), and the second youngest was his current team-mate Pedri, who reached 100 against Girona last January at the age of 20 years, 2 months and 4 days, and got to celebrate the occasion with the only goal of the match.
Leo Messi knocked off podium
That means that the great Leo Messi is no longer part of the top three. He was a 'veteran' of 20 years, 8 months and 3 days when he played his 100th game for the club. The man who inherited Messi's number ten shirt has now taken the Argentinian's place on the podium.
