Game after game, FC Barcelona is amazing the world with its incredible defensive record. After 25 games, the team has collected an extraordinary 19 clean sheets and conceded just eight goals. And the team is really making the most of every goals they score. In the 21 games where Barça have opened the scoring, they have only once failed to go on to win the game.
Scoring first, going on to win
The only time when Barça let a lead slip was in the derby against Espanyol. Marcos Alonso scored the opener but Espanyol stole a point when Joselu converted from the penalty spot.
Athletic Club and Villarreal have also only dropped two points after leading games, although neither team has had anything like the number of leads to defend as Barça has had. Around Europe's other top four leagues, Napoli (who lead Serie A with an identical wind-draw-loss record to Barça) and PSG in France are the only two teams that have defended leads in a comparable fashion to the Catalans.
Just one Barça comeback
What Barça have been famous for in recent years is their incredible ability to come back from behind. But this season it hasn't been happening for the simple reason that they have hardly ever been behind in the first place! The only comeback thus far was in the final game before the World Cup break, when goals from Pedri and Raphinha turned things around after Osasuna had gone ahead through David Garcia.
Almería and Real Madrid are the only two other teams that have led a game against Barça this season, but on both those occasions, Barça ultimately lost.
