Barça 81-75 Valencia Basket: Comeback seals deserved win

A perfect week in the Palau Blaugrana, topped off by Barça beating Valencia Basket 81-75 to make it three wins out of three at home. The visitors controlled a large part of the game, but Barça's comeback started in the third quarter, culminating with the win in the fourth. Laprovittola top scored with 19 points for the home side.

Valencia take control

The game took time to get going, with both sides missing chances. However, Valencia found their rhythm first to take the score to 6-13 after five minutes. Any Barça points were coming from individual plays and this was reflected in the score at the end of the first quarter (14-24).

Four points after the restart closed the gap to six, but the side in orange stuck to their game plan, with only seven points by a decisive Jan Vesely keeping Valencia from completely running away with the game. 32-43 at half time.

Barça comeback to win

The second half saw Valencia scoring three-pointers to keep up the pressure. However, Barça started to turn up the heat and comeback. A few minutes of good play saw the visitors retreat to some extent, allowing the home side to come within 3 points halfway through the third. Mirotic ensured the lead was within grasp by the end of the quarter, score 57-59.

Satoransky tied the game at 59-59 with nine minutes left, before scoring a three-pointer to take Barça into the lead. The final quarter was frantic and erratic, but also including some stunning shots - the last being a three-pointer by Abrines with 26 seconds to go into a four point lead. The Palau was electric by this point and willed the team over the line for an 81-75 win. Comeback complete.
