Striker Ángel Alarcón has reached an agreement to extend his contract with FC Barcelona through to 30 June 2025, two more seasons than his previous contract has stipulated. Now part of the U19 setup, he'll be joining Barça Atlètic next season. His buyout clause has been set at 400 million euros.
Here since 2018
Born in Castelldefels, Ángel Alarcón (15/05/2004) joined the U16B team from Espanyol in the summer of 2018. He immediately demonstrated its excellent physique and eye for goal and was promoted straight to the U19A team the year after. As well as helping the side to victory in the Division of Honour, he also played a couple of games for Barça B. Sadly, however, he suffered a nasty injury in the semi-finals of the end-of-season Champions Cup in Malaga.
How that he is back to full fitness, he hasn't lost any of his touch. Powerful and dedicated to the cause he played 22 games last season for the U19A team, and scored 14 goals in the league and three in the UEFA Youth League.
First team debut
He has occasionally even had first team call-ups to cover for injuries and suspensions in the regular front-line. Just last week, he got to make his senior debut in the Copa del Rey game away to Ceuta, coming on for the last ten minutes of the 5-0 win at the Estadio Municipal Alfonso Murube, replacing Raphinha.
Ángel Alarcón says
“I am very happy to stay at this great club. I am really enjoying the moment after being injured for so much of last season, and now I just have to keep working hard on what I'm doing.”
