FC Barcelona and Martin Braithwaite have reached an agreement to terminate the contact binding the player to the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.
FC Barcelona publicly expresses its gratitude to Braithwaite for his commitment and dedication and wishes him the best of fortune and every success in the future.
The Danish striker joined FC Barcelona from Leganés in the 2020 winter transfer window. In two and a half seasons at the club, he has played 59 games. 2020/21 was Braithwaite's most consistent, while in 2021/22, he was side-lined for a long period with a knee injury and only featured in five matches.
He scored five goals and gave three assists in his 44 league games, and also scored three goals in the Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey, for an overall total of ten goals.
He won the Copa del Rey in 2020/21, scoring an extra time winner against Sevilla in the semi-final at the Camp Nou.
It’s been an honour to represent this club. I have always given my best for the fans and the club and I will forever be grateful for the support shown 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/DUMW8zk6AJ
