After a week and half of training following the summer break FC Barcelona are now ready for the first game of the 2022/23 preseason. As a prelude to their impending four-match trip to the United States, they are the special guests for the centenary celebrations of fellow Catalan outfit Unió Esportiva Olot up in the glorious foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees.
Live on Barça TV+
The game kicks off on Wednesday at 7.00pm CEST, and this guide will help you make sure you know what time that is where you are. Watching the game was never easier as it is being streamed live on this website via Barça TV+, and we will also have updates as they happen in our Match Center and on all the official social networks.
Going for gold
Although Olot were founded in 1921, they are celebrating their anniversary a year late after their original plans were interrupted by the pandemic. They are doing so as a newly promoted member of Segunda RFEF, the fourth tier of the Spanish pyramid, which is one level below that of Barça B.
The home side are going to be wearing a special commemorative version of their red and blue kit, meaning we will be getting our first look at Barça’s brand new golden uniform inspired by the 1992 Olympics.
Pedri returns
Xavi called up 21 players to the squad for the trip to Olot, who are travelling to the game by coach on Wednesday afternoon. These include new signing Franck Kessie, who is in line to make his debut, and Pedri, who has been passed fit and available to play after recovering from his injury at the end of last season.
The internationals that only reported back for work on Monday will not be featuring in this game and will instead be training at the Ciutat Esportiva.
