Christensen arrives in Barcelona

Following Kessie's unveiling, Andreas Christensen has now landed at El Prat airport and is ready to experience his first few hours as an FC Barcelona player. The 26-year-old central defender comes with vast experience and on a free transfer from Chelsea, after his signing for FC Barcelona was confirmed on Monday.

The official unveiling is set for Thursday, after which the player will be able to start work and meet his new coach and team-mates. Christensen mentioned exactly that on his arrival via the Club's official media channels.

The Dane stated "I am very happy to be here" and "I can't wait to get started". "This is a great opportunity for me. I have been going through some great times recently and now I am here I want to help the team win titles", he remarked.

The player has signed a contract to June 30, 2026, with a release clause of 500 million euro. This is the schedule for his official unveiling (all times CEST):

• 12:00pm: Private contract signing in offices at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

• 12:30pm: Appearance on the Tito Vilanova pitch in the new 22/23 home kit.
