Barça CBS 62-56 Alcobendas: Victory on a historic occasion in the Palau

As part of the events surrounding International Women's Day on 8 March, the FC Barcelona women's basketball team celebrated a historic occasion as they tasted the magic of the Palau Blaugrana in the win over Alcobendas. The female player were able to enjoy first hand the support usually reserved for the men's team with the supporters groups who form part of the Palau's mystique present for the league game.
The day also saw various institutional events linked to International Women's Day as well as an excellent 62-56 win for Isaac Fernández's team which takes them ever closer to the league title.
Success from the three point line saw the women's team open up a 19-13 lead early on against Alcobendas. Marta Canella stood out as Barça lead by 10 points at 35-25.
In the second half Barça turned up the heat with a succession of excellent plays including an impressive three pointer from Canella in the last 30 seconds to round off a memorable occasion for the women's basketball team.
