French handball international Timothey N’Guessan is staying at FC Barcelona for three more seasons. The full back’s contract was set to expire in the summer, but he is now staying until the end of June 2025.
N’Guessan joined the club in the summer of 2016 from Chambéry Savoie in France and is now into his ninth season in Catalonia. In that time he has won 31 titles, including five editions of the Liga Asobal and one Champions League.
At international level, his greatest of many achievements was winning the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with France.
The player turned 29 last September and is one of four compatriots in the current Barça squad, together with Dika Mem, Ludovic Fàbregas and Melvyn Richardson.
His new contract forms part of the club’s commitment to maintain the same block of players that have brought such much success in recent years. Indeed, Aleix Gómez’s own contract was recently extended to 2026.
