Sergio Busquets continues to impress, and despite defeat in Sunday’s UEFA Nations League final against France, he was named MVP of the Final Four after excelling in both games at the San Siro, in the final and the semi against Italy.
Had Spain won, Busquets would have been the first person ever to win all three of the World Cup, European Championships and Nations League.

Iniesta caught
On the night of his 131st cap, Bisquets matches his close friends Andrés Iniesta in fourth place in the all-time list.
He just needs two more games to catch up with another former Barça colleague Xavi Hernández on 133, although Iker Casillas (167) and Sergio Ramos (180) are still a long way out in front.
Another Barça MVP
Iniesta and Xavi were Barça’s last two Spanish internationals to be named MVP at a major international event. The former was MVP of Euro 2012 (and also of the 2010 World Cup Final), while Xavi Hernández was MVP of Euro 2008.
For other countries, Leo Messi was MVP of the 2014 World Cup, Antoine Griezmann at Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup Final and Neymar Jr was MVP of the Confederations Cup in 2013.
Meanwhile, the MVPs of all five of the last editions of the Copa America have been on the Barça books at some stage of their careers: Messi (2021), Dani Alves (2019), Alexis Sánchez (2016), Messi (2015) and Luis Suárez (2011).
