Barça B have lost at Gimnàstic Tarragona in the second game of the Primera División RFEF season, leaving them with just one point out of a possible six so far. Sunday’s game was a tight affair, ultimately decided by a Fran Carbia goal with just ten minutes to go.
Both sides took a cautious approach early on. Ferran Jutglà had had the only really big chance of the first half before Tarragona produced a late flurry that would have led to a goal had it not been for some top defending by Mika Mármol and a terrific block from Iñaki Peña’s outstretched foot.
The second half was almost a mirror image of the first. It was again Ferran Jutglà who had Barça’s big chance, and again Nàstic saved their best for the final moments of the half. They had already hit the blaugrana crossbar when Fran Carbia found his way past Ramos Mingo to fire between Peña’s legs
It was a frustrating end to the day’s work, and Barça B will next go hunting for a first win of the season against UE Costa Brava next Sunday at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
