Yulimar Rojas made history for Venezuela, for world athletics and for FC Barcelona too after not only winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics but also smashing a world record that has stood for 26 years, an incredible 15.67 metres in the women’s triple jump
She is the first Venezuelan woman to win an Olympic gold medal, and also the first from FC Barcelona. And to celebrate she has sent a video from the Olympic Village in Tokyo in which she says “this is a gift for all culers, because I am very happy to be part of FC Barcelona”.

Rojas has been at FC Barcelona since 2016, shortly after winning the silver medal in Rio. She wears blaugrana in domestic competitions and in 2017 played a key role in winning the Copa de la Reina indoor event in Madrid, where Barça put an end to 18 years of uninterrupted victories for Valencia.
