Athletic Club v FC Barcelona on August 21

The date of Barça’s second game of the Liga season was announced today. The team will be travelling to San Mamés, Bilbao to take on Athletic Club on Saturday 21 August, kick-off at 10.00pm CEST. 

Coincidentally, it’s the same trip they made in match day 2 of last season, although due to the rescheduled fixture list, the game didn't actually get played until January. It ended in a 3-2 win for the Catalans with one goal from Pedri and two for Leo Messi. 

Preseason plans

Barça will be starting their Liga campaign at Camp Nou a week earlier on Sunday 15 August at 8.00pm CEST. 

But there are friendly games to come before that, starting this coming Wednesday at 7.00pm CEST against Gimnàstic Tarragona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. 

At the same time and place on Saturday, there’s another game against Girona before the team head off to Germany, where they have game with Stuttgart on July 31 at 6.00pm CEST. All these games can be watched live on Barça TV+.
