Barça’s new Brazilian futsal signing, Jean Pierre Guisel Costa (known professionally as Pito) came to Spain in 2016. He already knows what it is like to play alongside Dyego and Ferrao, two of his colleagues in the excellent Brazil national side.
Like Ferrao, he is from Chapecó (06/11/91). After playing for Carlos Barbosa in his home country, his first Spanish club was ElPozo from 2016 to 2019, before going on to Torrejón and Murcia, where he featured in an epic duel against Barça in the league final. He was at Movistar Inter for the last two seasons, winning four major trophies including the league.
At his peak
On signing for Barça, Pito said that "you can see the grandeur of this club from the moment you arrive. I’m very excited. I’m at the height of mt career and my goal is to win every trophy possible.”
"I’ve dreamed of playing for a club like this since I was a kid and now I’m here to enjoy it. I also thank Txus Lahoz and Andreu Plaza for starting the negotiations and it was also a he honour to meet president Laporta. I’m sure I’ll have a great time at Barça."
"I am a happy player and I try to make that joy infectious on court. I also believe that hard work is the only way to achieve your targets.”
I have had some tough games with Barça over the years – tough in the sporting sense. We each defended our interests at the time but now I am here to play for them. Knowing how good the Barça is, I’m sure we will enjoy ourselves and entertain the fans.”
