De Jong and Sergio, the players with the most passes in the league

The Barça midfield stands out for its great reliability and accuracy in the pass, and that's certainly the case for Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets who have been the two players in the 2020/21 season that have made the most total passes and most completed passes.

The Dutch midfielder has attempted 2,785 passes of which 2,560 were completed (91.92% success) while Busquets made a total of 2,682 passes, 2,450 of them successful (91.35% success). Without a doubt, some spectacular records of two of the best midfielders in the world.

Both have been key players for Koeman, with De Jong participating in 37 games (only the penultimate one was missed due to suspension), while Sergio has played 36, missing one due to injury and one due to suspension.

Sergio, a regular

Barça midfielders are always in the rankings of players with the most passes in the league. If we look at the last few years, Sergio Busquets was also second last year with 2,575 passes, only surpassed by a team-mate, in this case by Gerard Piqué (2,681). In the 2018/19 season he was the third player with most passes in the league (2,393), in 2017/18 the fifth (2,241), in 2016/17 the sixth (2,193) and in 2015/16 the third (2,422). Definitely one of the benchmark players in his position.

Alba, Lenglet and Messi, also in the TOP-10

Three more players appear in the TOP-10 of the players with the most passes in the 2020/21 league season. Jordi Alba is fourth (2,232 out of 2,569), Lenglet seventh (2,119 out of 2,300), and Leo Messi eighth (1,913 out of 2,248). Half of the members of this TOP-10 are from Barça. Parejo (3rd), Koke (5th), Koundé (6th), Modric (9th) and Pau Torres (10th) complete this ranking.
