Antoine Griezmann is still red hot. The Frenchman has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, and together with his 12 assists, that makes for a role in 31 goals in total. Such spectacular stats are only topped by the inimitable Leo Messi.
With his crucial contribution to Sunday’s victory at Mestalla, Griezmann now has 12 goals in his Liga account, three more than he had at the same stage of the previous campaign – and he is the only player in the squad to have netted in all four competitions in which the team has played.
This last month has seen him hit peak form, with five goals in five games, against Athletic in the Cup Final, and against Getafe, Villarreal (2) and now Valencia in the league. Granada was the only team that managed to keep him from scoring.
It’s been a tremendous calendar year for the 30-year-old, who in just four months has amassed 14 goals and 9 assists. Some form!
