A great first touch, a goal and a smile was how Antoine Griezmann scored his 15th goal of the 2020/21 season, a figure that saw him match his goalscoring exploits of the previous campaign.
In the 60th minute of the Copa del Rey final against Athletic (0-4), the No.7 scored another goal in this season's tournament to put FC Barcelona ahead.
His 15 goals have come in LaLiga (8), Copa del Rey (3), Champions League (2) and Spanish Super Cup (2). Thirteen have been scored with his left foot, one with his right and one with his head. Jordi Alba is the player who has given him the most assists (5).
Barça's second highest French goal scorer
Since joining Barça in the summer of 2019, Griezmann has scored 30 goals. The first two against Betis (5-2) and the last against Athletic. Villarreal, Getafe, Granada, Real Sociedad, Eibar, Atlético Madrid, Osasuna, Mallorca, Leganés, Alaves, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Dinamo Kyiv, Ibiza, Ferencváros and Huesca are the other opponents against whom the Frenchman has found the net.
Numbers that make him the second highest French goal scorer in club history behind Thierry Henry (49).
He has achieved these 30 goals in 91 games for the club. Though his first-year total at Barça has been matched, Griezmann still has eight league games to increase his scoring stats. Surely, the contribution and energy of the Frenchman will become key in the final stretch of the league season.
Griezmann's contribution goes beyond goals because he's also delivered 11 assists. He's in second place in terms of assists this season, level with Leo Messi and behind Jordi Alba's 13. He's also the Barcelona striker who has recovered the most balls this season (135).
