Joan Laporta, Víctor Font, Toni Freixa and Emili Rousaud are the four pre-candidates who have passed the minimum of 2,257 signatures needed to become official candidates for the presidency of FC Barcelona, and who are awaiting the result of the validation process of the signatures that will begin pn Tuesday, January 12.
Jordi Farré, Xavier Vilajoana, Agustí Benedito, Lluís Fernández Alà and Pere Riera were unable to collect the minimum number required for the January 24 elections.
Joan Laporta presented the most signatures with a total of 10,272, followed by Víctor Font with 4,713, Toni Freixa (2,822) and Emili Rousaud (2,510). For his part, Xavier Vilajona's total of 1,968 wasn't enough to reach the minimum required.
Jordi Farré, Lluís Fernandez Alà and Pere Riera decided to destroy their signatures in the Auditorium without them being counted or validated, whilst Agustí Benedito decided not to submit his signatures.
The number of valid signatures and the official proclamation of the candidates is now pending the ballot validation process, which begins on Tuesday, January 12 and ends on Thursday, January 14. Depending on the number of signatures that are not validated, the final number of candidates for the elections may alter.
