Barça v ElPozo: European Champions! (2-1)

Effectiveness was the key for Barça to counter ElPozo's initiative. In two almost sporadic actions, Dyego, with an assist from Ferrao, and Aicardo saw the Catalans 2-0 up as early as the ninth minute. Thereafter, Barça withstood a desperate, and at the same time intense, onslaught from Diego Giustozzi's team. The hosts were indebted to goalkeeper, Dídac, on more than one occasion, and at half-time, distant cries of Barça fans outside the Palau Blaugrana could be heard. 

Excitement to the end

Barça's resistance lasted 25 minutes. The desire of the Castilian's eventually led to a goal, former Barça player, Leo Santana, bringing ElPozo right back into the game (2-1, min. 25). Intermittent counterattacks were all that the blaugranes could muster as they concentrated on a backs-against-the-wall defensive performance. Didac was again called into action, whilst at the other end, Barça just couldn't find another goal to make the game safe.

In the end it didn't matter and the enthusiasm of Andreu Plaza to raise this coveted Champions League title became a reality. Barça have the European title back after six years, and the win means they will automatically qualify for next seasons competition as defending champions.
