It was a great start to the 2020/21 Iberdrola League for Barça. The Catalans thrashed Real Madrid (0-4) in the first Clásico in the history of women's football. With goals from Patri Guijarro, a Misa own goal, Martens and Alexia, Lluís Cortés' side earned their first three points of the season, after more than seven months off.
Dominance from the beginning
Barça controlled the game from the first whistle, and it wasn't long before they had the first chances of the match. Graham tried her luck from a direct free-kick, but Misa saved the locals. On 18 minutes, Patri Guijarro scored the first goal of the season, with only good work from Misa stopping the visitors from adding to the score before the break.
Superb second half
Ten minutes into the second half and with Barça still making all the running, Misa was unlucky to see the ball rebound in off her, handing the visitors a second (0-2, minute 55).
Sandra Paños in the Barça goal had nothing to do, and it wasn't long before Lieke Martens finished a great cross from the right (0-3, min. 66). Alexia completed the rout from inside the area (0-4, min. 75).
