As announced on Monday by the Real Federación Española de Fútbol, national football competitions, which include Division 2B, will get under way in October. In the case of Division 2B, that means October 18.
These dates still need to be ratified by the RFEF Managing Commission on September 14, and are conditional to approval of the corresponding health protocols by the governmental authorities.
Note that the format of Division 2B has been changed and will now have 102 teams divided across five groups rather than four. This is due to the introduction of Division 2B Pro from 2021/22, which will be a third national tier between Divisions 2A and 2B.
On Monday, the proposed new system was put to the vote by the Commission of Presidents of Autonomous Football Federations, with just one abstention and no votes against.
FC Barcelona B will be playing in Subgroup A of Group III of Division 2B.
The U19 competition will be starting in late October, also subject to the aforesaid protocol.
