Quarter finals for the 13th season in a row

Barça are in the quarter finals of the Champions League...for the 13th season in a row. The last time the blaugranes were knocked out before the last eight was way back in the 2006/07 season when Premier League side Liverpool eliminated Frank Rijkaard's Barça in the last 16. 

FC Barcelona stand alone in this particular area of the competition as no other club has ever put together a run of more than eight seasons in a row in the last eight of Europe's top club competition. 

Good record in the quarter finals 

Over the previous 12 seasons, Barça have only failed to reach the semi-finals on four occasions. In 2014 and 2016 they lost out to Atlético Madrid, in 2017 to Juventus and in 2018 to AS Roma. 

During this run Barça have claimed the trophy on three occasions, in 2009, 2011 and 2015. This season will be a little different as from the quarter finals onwards all games will be played over one leg in Lisbon, Portugal.
