Lieke Martens was in Holland with her national team when the Covid-19 crisis broke out, the latest interruption to a peculiar season for the Barça star, who had already missed much of the campaign due to a foot injury sustained at the World Cup.
In an interview with the club media as the team trains at Vall d'en Bas, she shared some of her opinions:
"I feel fine. I was able to run at home. Holland was a bit different to Spain. But I missed the ball, the girls and the team. I’m so happy to start playing again.”
"The Champions League is a very nice competition and you can win it in nine days. It was good of UEFA to make it the same for men and women.”
“The whole team look great. We need to keep going and work to improve. We all want to win the Champions League and you have to train very hard to do that.”
“It’s good to have kept the same players. Last season went very well. There is a good dynamic in the squad and continuing together means we can keep learning together.”
"I wasn’t able to play many games last season. Now my head is fresh and I want to everything possible.”
