On Monday evening, Pedro González played his last ever game for Las Palmas. Better known as Pedri, the FC Barcelona player from next season posted a brilliant farewell performance, scoring a goal in a 5-1 defeat of Extremadura.
The Canary Islander, who played 36 Second Division games this season, scored the second goal for the home side, and his fourth of the campaign – a fine right-footed to put his side on good course for victory. He played 72 minutes, being replaced late on by Aridai.
Pedri spoke to the media after the final whistle, saying “I am very pleased to have been able to help the team, but I’m sad to be leaving a stadium that has given me everything. I only have words of gratitude to everyone at this club and for everything Las Palmas has done for me.”
