Dani Alves arrived at FC Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008 and in eight seasons played a total of 391 games, meaning he has played the second highest number of games for the club than any other foreigner in club history, topped only by Leo Messi, who has over 700 appearances to his name.
Right back extraordinaire
Since his first season with the team, he made the right-back position his own. He never made fewer than 40 games a season, and although he played in defence, he also made a contribution up front, scoring 21 goals. The most memorable included the one against Real Madrid in the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey in 2011/12 and two against Manchester City in the Champions League meetings of 2014.
King of assists
In domestic and European football, the Brazilian supplied a stunning total of 82 assists in his time at Barça. Leo Messi was on the receiving end of most of those, 35, and including his games for Sevilla, his total of 101 games is the second highest in La Liga of the 21st century, and his 25 in Europe is the fifth highest. For a defender, those are quite remarkable achievements.
Winning it all
A treble winner in his first season and also in 2014/15, Alves won 23 major trophies in his time at FC Barcelona, including six Ligas, three Champions Leagues and four editions of the Copa del Rey.
Meanwhile, the 40 titles he won throughout his career are one of the highest totals in world football. What. A. Player.
