After a meeting on Monday of the Spanish National Handball Federation (RFEBM), the season's competitions have been brought to an end due to the coronavirus pandemic and Barça have been named Asobal League champions for 2019/20.
With 19 games gone in the season Barça topped the table with 38 points, five ahead of nearest rivals Abanca Ademar León. The blaugranes, León, Bidasoa Irún and Benidorm all qualify for the 2020/21 EHF European League.
The league title is the 27th in their history for the Barça handball team and their tenth in a row, a run that stretches back to 2010/11. The season is now over for Xavi Pascual's side after the announcement by the national governing body and last week's decision by the EHF European League to hold a Final Four in December to decide the 2019/20 European Champions.
