The Documentation and Study Centre contains the historical archive, a library and a newspaper collection. It provides a comprehensive service to the different departments of the club and has a reading room open to members, researchers and the general public.
Information and reference
The centre’s staff provides information and specialist advice to users, both face-to-face and non-face-to-face, on documentary, bibliographic, and newspaper archives, and on the services offered by the Centre.
Viewing documents
The Centre has a reading room for free, public viewing of its documentary, bibliographic and newspaper archives. Users must first identify themselves.
All documents in the archive can be viewed as long as they have been duly and sufficiently archived, catalogued and referenced, except in cases where documents are still subject to restricted access due to legal requirements or applicable legislation.
The archive’s historic documentation may only be viewed by appointment and when detailing in advance the requested documentation to be viewed.
Non-historic newspaper and bibliographic material may be viewed without the need for an appointment if the staff deem this appropriate and the conditions for doing so are met.
Reprography
The Centre offers a service for making copies of its archives, including photocopies, hard copies of digital images and digitisations.
Copying is subject to the state of conservation of documents and to compliance with any specific rules on copyright and treatment rights to which the documents may be subject, as well as the club’s internal regulations.
Copies must be requested in writing using the application forms that are available in the reading room, or virtually via the electronic form available on this website or by email.
Documents may not be copied using users’ own devices, including photographs with or without flash, portable scanners or any other media.
Dissemination and training activities
The Documentation Centre seeks to disseminate and make good of its documentary and photographic archives in order to foster knowledge about the history of FC Barcelona and the people who been part of it over the years.
