Barça know their rival for the Copa del Rey, Round of 16 tie: Ibiza. The Catalans enter the competition after avoiding the first two qualifiers, having played in the Spanish Super Cup. Quique Setién's side will face a team that plays in the Segunda B division, and will do so in a single game. On Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 or Thursday 23 January, Barça will visit the Estadi Municipal de Can Misses. The tie will be played at 7.00pm or 9.00pm CET.
Ibiza currently find themselves in third position in Group 1 of the Second Division B – a playvoff place – some 8 points behind the leaders Atlético Madrid B but having played a game less. The Balearic club are coached by former blaugrana Pablo Alfaro who also played at Racing Santander alongside new Barça coach Quique Setién between 1993 and 1995. The danger man for UD Ibiza is Ángel Rodado who has scored 12 goals in 19 league games and 1 in the Copa del Rey so far this season.
The first tie for FC Barcelona this season in the Copa del Rey will come after the league clash with Granada on Sunday 19 January and before the visit to Valencia on Saturday 25 January.
