Barça B have won their seventh league game of the season, this time 3-1 against La Nucía. Monreal opened the scoring for the visitors, but a wonderful brace from Hiroki Abe and another from Álex Collado turned things around to leave Garcia Pimienta’s side unbeaten in ten games (4-6-0) and fifth in the table with 29 punts, just one short of the playoff places and three behind leaders Sabadell.
Barça B dominated from the start, with Konrad de la Fuente hitting the post, but immediately after La Nucía scored with their only meaningful attack of the first half, the goal coming from a corner.
Justice was served just two minutes later with a finely placed strike from Hiroki. The blaugrana dominance continued into the second half, when the Japanese striker claimed his second with an absolutely superb strike from outside the area, his fourth goal of the season.
Álex Collado then latched onto an error to extend the lead, and that was as good as game over. The visitors were a lot more proactive as the game progressed, they had to be, but with Iñaki Peña safe as houses between the sticks, they weren’t getting back into this game, and barça B are still unbeaten at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Next up is a trip to eleventh placed Olot on Sunday at 5.00pm CET.
