Anssumane Fati (31 October 2002) was born in Bissau, the capital of Guinea Bissau. The striker moved to Seville at the age of six where he began in the youth team set up at Sevilla. In 2012, at the age of 10, he joined the FC Barcelona youth teams before making his debut with the first team in the 2019/20 season.

1) The second youngest LaLiga debutant for Barça

Ansu Fati is the second youngest player to debut for the Barça first team in LaLiga, aged 16 years and 298 days, coming on for Carles Pérez in the 78th minute of a 5-2 win over Betis at the Camp Nou. He is behind only Vicente Martínez, who made his first appearance at 16 years, 9 months and 7 days.

2) Barça's youngest LaLiga goalscorer

Against Osasuna at El Sadar, Ansu Fati became Barça's youngest goalscorer in history. He found the net with FC Barcelona's first goal in an eventual 2-2 draw with Osasuna, converting a Carles Pérez cross. He was 16 years and 304 days old at the time.

3) The youngest starter at the Camp Nou

Against Valencia, Ansu Fati was the youngest player to start for Barça at the Camp Nou, aged 16 years and 318 days.

4) The youngest player to score and provide an assist in LaLiga

In that same 5-2 win, in the space of seven minutes, he became the youngest player to score and provide an assist in a single league game (16 years and 318 days).

5) The youngest goalscorer at the Camp Nou

His goal made him the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Camp Nou, for either FC Barcelona or an away team (16 years and 318 days).

6) Barça's youngest Champions League debutant

September 17, 2019

Fati is the youngest player to feature for Barça in the Champions League. He debuted in the game against Borussia Dortmund at 16 years and 321 days old, and as a 59th minute substitute for Leo Messi..

7) Second youngest player for Spain U21

15 October 2019

His exploits for Barça won him a place in the Euro U21 qualifier against Montenegro, making him the second youngest player to do so after another former Barça man, Bojan Krkic.

8) The youngest goalscorer in Champions League history

December 10, 2019

In the final game of the Group Stage, Ansu Fati came on in the 85th minute against Internazionale at the San Siro. Just a minute later, he scored the winning goal. Besides giving Barça the victory, it made him the competition's youngest ever goalscorer, at 17 years and 40 days old.

9) The youngest player ever to score a double in league history

February 2, 2020

Having scored twice against Levante, he become the youngest player ever to score a brace in league history. At only 17 years and 94 days old he surpassed Juanmi, who in 2010 achieved the feat at 17 years and 115 days whilst playing for Málaga. The Andalusian had taken the milestone from former Barça player, Bojan Krkic, who scored two goals against Valladolid in 2008, at the age of 17 years and 208 days old.

10) Golden Boy nomination

On August 15, it was announced that the Barça man is shortlisted for the Golden Boy award presented by Italian magazine Tuttosport to the best player under 20 years of age.

He finished sixth last year, with João Félix taking the trophy, but is again in contention, as he also is for Revelation category of the Globe Soccer Awards.

11) Second youngest player for Spain

3 September 2020

In the UEFA Nations League game with Germany, Luis Enrique sent Ansu Fati on in the second half, and the only younger debutant was Zubieta, a Basque footballer from the early 20th century.

He could also have become the youngest player to score for Spain, had his goal not been disallowed for a foul in the build-up by Sergio Ramos.

12) The youngest goal scorer with the Spanish national team

September 6, 2020

Ansu Fati has become the youngest ever scorer in the Spanish national team, netting the third goal against Ukraine at 17 years and 311 days. The young striker surpassed Errazquin, who scored at 18 years of age in 1925.
