Messi to display Ballon d'Or award before kickoff for Barça vs. Mallorca
The FC Barcelona forward will show off his sixth such honour before the action gets underway at the Camp Nou this Saturday
Lionel Messi will display his sixth Ballon d'Or award to fans at the Camp Nou before kickoff in the game between FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca, which takes place this Saturday. The Argentine received the honour this past Monday in a gala in Paris, in which his achievements last season were recognised, and now he gets the opportunity to bring the award home to the stadium and receive the ovation from the fans.
Messi is now a six-time winner of the Ballon d'Or, having previously been given the prize in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. FC Barcelona are the club with the most Ballon d'Or winners whilst playing for the team, with 12.
