Barça B 3-3 Cornellà: Late, late equaliser saves the day

A last minute goal salvaged a point for the blaugranes in a pulsating encounter against Cornellà in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Carles Pérez, making his debut season for the B team, and Hiroki gave Barça an early two goal advantage in the first half. However, before the break visitors Cornellà levelled things up and when they took the lead with just four minutes remaining all appeared lost for Garcia Pimienta's side. Nevertheless, a penalty from captain Monchu in injury time rescued a point for Barça B who are still unbeaten in their new home. 

The home side began brightly and when Akieme and Collado combined to create danger in the Cornellà box, Carles Pérez was there to gather up the loose ball and put Barça B ahead in his first appearance for Garcia Pimienta's team this season. At the half way point in the first half Barça double their lead when Riqui Puig put Carles Pérez through. The striker was unable to finish but Hiroki was on hand to turn the ball home to make it 2-0. 

Cornellà comeback

The visitors had hardly been in the game in the opening half an hour yet they struck twice before the break to level the scores. Leo Ramírez pulled one back for Cornellà with a great strike from outside the box before Eloy Gila rounded off an excellent move to make it 2-2 at half time. 

Late winner 

The second half was a much tighter affair after an opening forty five minutes with four goals. Riqui Puig came close for Barça before a header from Becerra from a corner appeared to have won the game for Cornellà with just four minutes left in the game. Barça B did not throw in the towel and Araujo won a penalty deep into injury time to allow Monchu to level things up from the penalty spot. The point from the draw sees Barça B just three from a play off place with their next game away at Lleida.
