We all have a game that brings back special memories. Lionel Messi does too, and in his interview this Wednesday with RAC1, he chose his favourite: the 0-2 at the Santiago Bernabéu in the 2010/11 Champions League semi-final first leg. "It was a unique memory," he explained.
That April 27, 2011, the Argentine scored two goals that helped FC Barcelona qualify for the final at Wembley. The 0-1 came after a cross from the right wing by Dutchman Ibrahim Afellay, whilst the second goal to seal the win came as a result of Leo's majestic drive from midfield. The second leg would end 1-1.
Messi also chose his favourite goal, coming in the 2009 Champions League final, against Manchester United. On May 27 of that year, the No.10 rose high to connect with Xavi's inch-perfect cross, thereby giving the blaugrana an unassailable 2-0 lead and their third Champions League title.
