The first El Clásico of the 2019-20 season will be played at Camp Nou on Saturday, October 26th, at 1.00pm CET, the Spanish La Liga announced on Wednesday afternoon. The game comes on matchday 10, and will not be the first time Barça and Real Madrid square off at midday.
The last time it happened came in December of 2017 at the Bernabéu, when Barça cruised to a 3-0 triumph propelled by goals from Luis Suárez, Leo Messi, and Aleix Vidal.
Barça and Real Madrid haven't met since last February, when Barça won two Clásicos played in Madrid in a four-day span — the first a 3-0 knockout punch in the Copa del Rey semis; the second a 1-0 win in La Liga. The last Clásico played at Camp Nou was last fall, when Barça rolled to a 5-1 rout.
The October 26th El Clásico comes on the heels of Champions League matchday three, when Barça will visit Slavia Prague, set for Wednesday, October 23rd at 9.00pm CET.
Barça's fourth clash at 1.00pm
In the three previous 1.00pm games that Barça has played, they are 2-1-0, including a 5-1 road win at Leganés in September of 2016 and a home draw with Celta in December of 2017. Three weeks later, Barça beat Real Madrid at 1.00pm as well.
Matchday 11 and 12 also confirmed
Following the El Clásico on October 26th, Barça face Valladolid on Tuesday, October 29th at 9.00pm CET. Then that weekend, Barça visit Levante on Saturday, November 2 at 4.00pm CET.
