The day and the moment finally came. Leo Messi has at last made a start on his 2019/20 after recovering from the injury picked up on the first day back for preseason training.
After six weeks battling to get back to fitness, he was named in today’s squad to face Dortmund and came on in the second half as a substitute for Ansu Fati, the youngster who had just become the youngest ever player to feature for Barça in Europe.
We knew before the game how much it meant to Messi, who made no secret of his wish to play for the first time in front of the famous crowd at Signal Iduna Park.
And the Argentinian very nearly marked his comeback with a goal right at the end as he latched onto a cross from Nelson Semedo.
Messi is back and that can only mean only one thing … Look out world!
